Meet Dr. Hargrove

Dr. Hargrove grew up in Qulin, Missouri, and is a graduate of the University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry, where she specialized in contact lenses, ocular diseases, dry eye, and low vision. She is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), Contact Lens and Cornea Section of the AOA, American Academy of Optometry (AAO), Texas Optometric Association (TOA), and Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Hargrove has a huge passion for helping patients get the absolute best out of their sight. She says, “My passion for optometry is fueled by the personal fulfillment of improving a patient’s ocular comfort or vision.  Imagine giving a child their first pair of glasses or contact lenses, fitting a patient in multifocal contact lenses who previously thought they were restrained to over the counter readers or bifocal glasses, or adding a low vision device to improve the functional vision of a low vision patient (severe macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinopathy, etc). That kind of excitement is unparalleled and contagious!”

Dr. Hargrove has a four year old sassafras Beagle mutt named Chloe. In her free time, she likes to watch the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues play (Gloria!) as well as go to concerts, trivia nights, and festivals. She enjoys running and participating in 5Ks, with hopes of eventually participating in a half-marathon.

If Dr. Hargrove could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, in what event would she have the best chance to medal?

“I’m overly competitive about escape rooms. Going for gold!”
